Morning routines should involve enjoyable activities
Sometimes its difficult to follow through with a morning routine because it is just focused around productive activities. To make a morning routine stick, it’s useful to make the morning routine simple and sometimes include an enjoyable activity (reading, gaming, programming etc.). It’s more of a reward or time to relax.
Follow On Thoughts
Should be something generally indulgent and hobbyish.
While, I recognise that morning routines are important, I can’t seem to be able to find time to do them. There seems to be a community online that suggests that you have to journal, plan your day, meditate etc almost in a glorified Patrick Bateman manner. On the days where I do have time, I end up indulging in my hobby for too long and the rest of the day goes to waste.
It therefore emerges that a time constraint is necessary to:
- Lower the expected time to work on the task thereby making it more perceivable to find the time
- Prevent working on the task for too long and to progress on the rest of the day
