Not all goals need to follow SMART principles

Goals do not have to follow SMART goals. Goals such as “living a peaceful life” or “having an empty calendar” are reasonable too.

Admittedly these goals are probably the more meaningful ones, but also the most difficult to plan and break down.
Perhaps what can help in terms of breaking down this goal can include envisioning what achieving said goal wpuld look like and the path to achieve said goal. This can help with finding major milestones or parts of the goal. For example being a great father can be broken down into the qualities of a good father and eventually you can break it down into a daily actionable thing like: “be appreciative of one thing from your children”.
